Grew up in a large loving Mormon family who survived on everything homemade. I was sewing with a needle and thread making doll clothes at the age of 3. Completed my first dress for my 6th grade graduation. Went on to make clothing for Jr High School from the old dresses my mother kept in an old chest,as I would remove the seams, wash and dry the fabric, then cut-out my clothing patterns, sew them up, and wear my new dress or pants to school the following day. Won an award in the 8th grade for my patchwork quilt (thanks to my Grandmother and Mother who helped me finish the quilting). Continued making my clothing through college. Made shirts for my husband, many baby clothes, Halloween costumes, and quilts for my children.
As time went on I made costume jackets, vests, and shirts, for my husbands traveling band. Made life more liveable for a sweet, oversized man, who couldn't find sweat pants or t-shirts to fit him. Sold my Barney youth jacket in a gift shop in Jackson Hole, Wy.
After many life tragedies, I faced a medical leave of absense from work and decided to open an Etsy shop (2012). Called it "SophiesRainbow". Started with decorative diaper wipes cases, then on to grocery cart covers, then baby car seat covers, and diaper bags. Changed my name to "FlavorsofmyRainbow" because I was selling a variety of handmade items. In 2014 my customers turned me in the direction of the Elf on the Shelf clothing. I was continually getting some of my listings taken down by the Elf on the Shelf company. Had to try and figure out how to sell the clothing without infringing on their copywrite. Had many returned customers to kept me busy, And as time went on, I had a customer request baby racing suits to match Dads suit. This grew massively, was very time consuming, and was more than I could possibly handle. Ended up closing my shop in 2020. Opened back up in 2021, putting up digital patterns for Elf dolls. Continually shut down by the Elf on the Shelf company! Closed shop again, opened up in 2023. Made another name change to "GRANEEZ". I rebranded my shop as the previous name no longer held the same meaning."
Custom items take days to figure out! They turn out impeckable, but you never get you monies worth out of them. No longer making custom elf costumes because of this.
Thank you sincerely, to all of my customers. I love all of you, and appreciate everything you have brought into my life.
